Album

OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997 2017 is a reissue of the 1997 album OK Computer by the English alternative rock band Radiohead. It was released in June 2017, the album's 20th anniversary, following the acquisition of Radiohead's back catalogue by XL Recordings from EMI in 2016. The album is remastered and includes B-sides released on OK Computer singles, plus three previously unreleased songs: I Promise, Man of War, and Lift. The reissue includes bonus tracks three previously unreleased and completely remastered versions of the album tracks. It was released on June 23, 2017 digitally, as a double CD set, and a triple LP pressed on 180 gram vinyl. The expanded box set includes a triple LP, as well as a C90 cassette mix tape compiled by the band and taken from the OK Computer session archives and demo tapes. A C90 cassette mix tape compiled by the band, taken from OK Computer session archives and demo tapes. Audio fixing and dubbing was done at Mayfair, Abbey Road, Air Lyndhurst, Courtyard and the Church studios. Twenty years on, Radiohead revisit their 1997 masterpiece with a deluxe reissue. The bonus material includes familiar B-sides and a few previously unheard recordings that hint at an intriguing road not taken. As they regrouped to figure out what their third album might be, Radiohead faced, if not a crossroads, then an unusually open stretch of road. They had toured with Alanis Morissette in support of their second LP, 1995's The Bends. Album 1997 23 Songs. The centerpiece of OKNOTOKs second set of unreleased tracks and B-sides, its a startlingly beautiful snapshot of the bands ridiculous post-The Bends, OK Computer-era potency. Elsewhere, Lift is another glistening gem from the vaults and Meeting in the Aisle provides a reminder of the bands haunting way around an instrumental. A remastered OK Computer, meanwhile, remains the foreboding masterpiece it ever was. After 20 years since its initial release. Radiohead re-releases their alt-rock masterpiece. Once again, I review. Summary: The remaster of the rock band's 1997 third album features eight B-sides, as well as original studio recordings of three previously unreleased tracks: I Promise, Lift, and Man Of War. Buy On. Record Label: XL. Our take on the OKNOTOK 1997 2017 reissue that pairs the original album with B-sides and three never-released songs. Will Hermes. Radiohead have reissued their acclaimed 'OK Computer' with three never-released tracks. Jim SteinfeldtGetty. Great records can conjure the illusion of being tailored specifically to whatever era the listener is in. Declaring Karma police, arrest this man alongside couplets like Ambition makes you look pretty uglyKicking, squealing Gucci little piggy, as transcendent melodies vie with outbursts of anxiety, depression and technological hate-fucking, OK Computer sounds pretty relevant right about now. Over the past 20 years, it always has. OK Computer OKNOTOK 1997. has been added to your Cart. Add gift options. If you are a Radiohead fan considering upgrading their best album this is worth it. The remastering on the album was done by Bob Ludwig one of the best mastering engineers in the world and the album sounds great. Verified Purchase. OK Computer was first released in 1997 to tremendous critical adulation. While not as immediately accessible as its outstanding predecessor, The Bends, OK Computer has proven to be not only Radiohead's finest release, but one of the best rock albums ever. i tried getting this box set a couple of years back from amazon, it didn't come with vinyl for some reason, but recently i got the actual box set with vinyl and holy crap!!! this is an amazing box set (in my opinion), with the cassette and the books, it is a must-have for die-hard fans (like me)
  • Blackbrand
Unfortunately, the copy that I purchased was misprinted very badly to the point that the sound was totally warped and all of the LPs had scuffs and scratches from the factory, so I returned it and didn't bother with another copy assuming that there are some bad batches in circulation. Even though the extra unreleased tracks would have been cool to have, I was only really interested in the regular album anyway, so I found a good copy of XL's regular release of OK Computer and I am very happy with it.
  • Gandree
Can anyone tell me what resolution the download of the main tracks (Airbag to How I Made My Millions) in the box set? 24 Bit/ 96kHz WAV, 16 Bit/ 44.1 kHz WAV, MP3?
  • komandante
There are two wav download options (24 bit 96kHz and 16 bit 44.1kHz wav) -- although the digital copy of the cassette is 16 bit 44.1kHz regardless.
  • Mpapa
There are two formats available to download, including mp3 and wav HR.
  • Nikohn
. . . they are all Mp3 files . . .
  • DEAD-SHOT
Amazing sounding pressing. I can't imagine this sounding any better.
  • Maridor
I've never heard a better mix of this album and I've heard or own all the significant pressings. For real. If you're a fan this is a must have.
  • Usaxma
Same for me.The stereo image is impressive.Using the latest tech in tape mastering.
  • IGOT
At the side-F, "How I Made My Millions", there's a strong scratch noise as well as blue vinyl. The pressing of the vinyls got worse since "A moon shaped pool". I'm so sad.
  • Priotian
That distortion is actually on the original recording, it's not the problem of the pressing.
  • Геракл
I reluctantly opened mine this morning (yes, I'm one of those guys who likes to keep things sealed).Has anyone else noticed that their small book is bound the wrong way round ? What I mean is, whenI opened the box, the embossed stamps on both books were facing out toward me, but the printinside (in the small book) is upside down. The larger book has the embossed stamp on the front as expected which is why I'm curious if thesmall one has been bound incorrectly. Not that it detracts from the beauty of the whole package. So glad I opened it, the vinyl sounds amazing. Can't believe it's been 20 years since I picked upthat very first release !
  • unmasked
Nevertheless, when ordered directly, i would contact W.A.S.T.E to send the right bound books.
  • Bluddefender
Pretty sure it's not a fake. Ordered direct through waste.
  • Sharpbrew
Cannot copy. Mine is bound correctly. Ordered directly from the W.A.S.T.E depot.Perhaps a fake ? I cannot believe, that the binding could be wrong for some releases.Where did you order ?
  • Mullador
i returned from vacation today with the box waiting on me ... i excitedly unboxed it, ready to listen to a bit before turning in after 12 hours on the road. however, could not do so ... it was shipped without the vinyl, everything else is there, just no vinyl in the sleeves inside the book.i am so disappointed.
  • Voodoolkree
The opposite happened to me. I got the 3 records but no box set. I contacted the W.A.S.T.E. Help Desk and got a replacement set shipped to me within 3 days. Zero hassle at all. Hope things turn out ok!
  • Wilalmaine
i ordered from the Radiohead site the day preorders started.it shipped from Asendia in Pennsylvania. I have contacted the shipper and the artist's fulfillment contractor in England.i am hopeful they will make this right. it's just terribly disappointing, especially reading the reviews of how nice the deluxe vinyl sounds.$143 US and don't even receive the records. that's frustration.
  • JUST DO IT
Where did you order ? I preordered from the W.A.S.T.E. The LP's came from optimal media. Seperated. Perhaps your dealer only forgot to enclose the LPs ?
  • Ohatollia
Question about the download code for the tape, what options were given? Is there a 24 bit download for the cassette or just standard 16 bit?
  • Lost Python
There is only 16-Bit for the tape portion. I promise 24-Bit isn't necessary for the tape.
  • Rexfire
You can download 16 bit and 24 bit wav, aswell as the 16 bit wav tape version.
  • Barinirm
You have got the option for 24 Bit-WAV or MP3
  • Munigrinn
As it's common to every new LP, you have to clean it before playing the first time. Residue is quite common due to the fact it's pressed ! Works for every vinyl. There was a lot of pressing residue on all three LPs. No problem after proper cleaning. Plays loud and clean. Super stereo resolution. Superb master IMHO. Congratulations. A must have for every fan !!!
  • Dishadel
Does anybody know how limited these are? How many of these boxes exist? Thanks!
  • betelgeuze
Where to start with a "review" of one of my favorite albums, and an album that inspired me greatly as a song writer. Well, I guess the place to start would be the sonics of the remaster. The remastering is nice. I can fairly say that the drums are slightly more punchy and distinct, and Collin's Bass is more defined and specific in the mix. The pressing: my pressing is perfect. There is no noise, ticks or pops. The unreleased songs... they are cool. Not the best tracks, and I can understand why they where held back from release. The two art books: Honestly, nothing special. I can dig it that Thom is sharing is personal notes, but 20 years later, it provides way less impact then it would have at the time of the albums release. The Tape: This is pretty keen. I enjoyed this glimpse into the studio sessions, but it would have been better with more outtakes of some of the songs we already know and love from the LP. Over all, I would have been ok with just the three vinyls and the material on the tape pressed on a vinyl rather than a tape. Or, a 45RPM pressing of OK C and then just called it a day.
  • Mushicage
Mine arrived in perfect shape and sounds noticeably better than my blue vinyl... Didn't hear a single instance of surface noise on this EU pressing. The contents of the box are fantastic and worth the price alone in my opinion. This remaster still isn't my favorite pressing of OK Computer but as far as OKNOTOK is concerned, this is the copy to get.
  • Enditaling
Is anyone else's cassette filled with horrible static on the entire A-side?? B-side is totally fine but any loud section on the A-side is riddled with noise. It's only coming from one side on a closer listen.
  • Gindian
Glad I'm not the only one! Ive been searching high and low to figure out if it was on purpose or not..i contacted waste and they said it was a packaging error on their part that caused them to do this. They were apologetic about it and are sending a replacement no questions asked. I applaud their customer service on this one. I've had a lot of things happen through the years of collecting and very few times have companies so easily sent a replacement.
  • Malann
It should be noted the download files are all brick walled (flat at 0db), what some consider a fall back to the loudness war. Why the band didn't bother to offer full spectrum files is bothersome. But still, the music is incredible.
  • Aria
No damage or missing items on mine, sounds great, a real improvement from the "capitol vaults" one, there was a clic noise for a few seconds on "subterranean homesick alien" but nothing else, no distortion on Let Down whatsoever, XL really know their craft. Worth the £100.
  • Yayrel
Same quality as the AMSP deluxe edition. The packaging is very nice quality while the vinyl is still not audiophile quality. The records are still stuffed into cheap white paper inner sleeves. Have we learned nothing? Why can't I get a few poly lined inner sleeves in my super-duper deluxe edition? The sound of my copy is average, I experienced some random patches of surface noise through out play. I also noticed that my records have some areas that have that bumpy orange peel look which doesn't seem to mess with the audio. Ha, woe is me and my first world problems!
  • DART-SKRIMER
this is indeed an immensely lush release!highly amused to see some of the asking prices on the marketplace here at time of writing, considering it's still available to buy direct from Radiohead at £100, lol!(£200?!? roflmto!!)
  • Thetalen
Was the tape holding shut the cardboard around the LPs already broken for anyone else when they opened the package? I was hoping to keep everything sealed, but I kind of had no choice with the LPs (I put them in MOFI sleeves and kept the cardboard padding). I usually buy the regular releases to listen to, and the box sets or special eds to keep sealed, I was a little disappointed the LPs weren't packaged better. I know they have the sleeves inside the box, but since I'm leaving it sealed my options are limited.
  • Bev
Mine had the tape broken too and I had a double of sky/blue Lp and no who's/it. Makes me wonder if the warehouse handlers are having a laugh. Contacted Waste to get the replacement Lp. Great set aside these issues.
  • WOGY
My copy has a big scratch on Airbag, straight out of the box. Thankfully it's not audible.
  • Dammy
Mine had some strange markings on the second side of the second disk. Fortunately it is not audible.
  • Morad
I agree, it's a silly decision for something that was so expensive. The quality control for all the LPs seems to have been seriously suspect.
  • Wymefw
The way the packed vinyl "outside" the actual box wasn't very clever. It allowed movement/friction among Lp's
  • I am hcv men
Question... is the download for the tape in the boxset only in MP3 or does it include as lossless copy as well?
  • Nargas
What is the resolution of the WAV? 24 Bit/ 96kHz or 16 Bit/ 44.1kHz
  • Gelgen
The cassette can be downloaded in MP3 or WAV as two separate tracks, Side A and Side B.
  • Fog
To start, if you consider yourself a fan of Radiohead at all, the cassette, and the .mp3s of said cassette are an unbelievable journey and well worth the price of admission. (or just finding them online if you don't want to drop this kind of money) A fantastic remastering, 3 beautiful unreleased tracks and a slew of goodies within the box. The tradition of outstanding quality has been upheld with this Radiohead Box set. It will proudly be displayed and enjoyed alongside my AMSP, TKOL and In Rainbows Special Editions.
  • Brol
God Dammit; I wish I had purchased an In Rainbows at the time...
