Album
Infinity is the fourth studio album by American rock band Journey, released in January 1978 on Columbia Records. It was the band's first album with vocalist Steve Perry and the last to feature drummer Aynsley Dunbar. Looking for a stronger lead vocalist, Journey briefly enlisted Robert Fleischman and even recorded a few tracks with him, one of which, For You, later appeared on the Time3 compilation album and Fleischman's solo album Perfect Stranger. Fleischman was soon replaced by Steve Perry, due. Infinity - Journey. Journey - Somethin' To Hide. By 1977 Journey had reached a creative crossroads, with three underwhelming studio albums under their belt and little to show in the way of commercial success. I always thought La Do Da should have been released as an A-side single rather than the B-side to Anytime. Feeling That Way and Anytime should have been released as a double sided single, in my opinion. The album has a pretty nice flow to it, but I find the last four songs on it forgettable. Over all, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 rating. Album 1978 10 Songs. Infinity 1978 was the first release with Perry on board, a template for later albums to follow. As before, the musicianship on the album is impeccable - Neal Schons overdrive guitar leads and Gregg Rolies gleaming keyboard lines are nothing less than high-class throughout. Still, its evident that without Perrys yearning vocals, the album would be more of an exercise in technical excellence than a wide-appeal project. Journey's fourth album, Infinity, was released in January 1978 on the Columbia Records label. The first album with Steve Perry as the lead singer. Perry and Neal Schon penned their first song together, Patiently, which would appear on the new studio album. Other popular singles include Lights and Wheel in the Sky, the latter written by temporary front man Fleischman. Journey - Infinity review: This is a good album through and through, but here's a warning: It's going to be the last good album for Journey. So, that was the deal with their early years. So now, we reach the post-prog era of Journey. Steve Perry comes in, and prog comes out of the equation. So how does it add up
