Hearts That Strain - Jake Bugg. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Hearts That Strain is the fourth studio album by English indie rock singer-songwriter Jake Bugg. The album was released on 1 September 2017. Bugg has said: Albums take you into their own sealed world. This time around I just wanted to write the tunes and record them with great musicians. All tracks are written by Jake Bugg. Hearts That Strain. Jake Bugg - Hearts That Strain 2017. To favorites 3 Download album. Listen album. Indie Folk. Jake Bugg. Britain's Jake Bugg sidesteps the electronic textures of 2016's On My One and settles comfortably into a vintage '60s and '70s AM pop vibe on his lyrical fourth studio album, 2017's Hearts That Strain. Having burst onto the scene in 2011 as a preternaturally gifted teen singerguitarist with a knack for balancing Bob Dylan-style folk musings with a rootsy, Lead Belly-esque acoustic blues twang, Bugg has only matured in the years since. Ever since Jake Bugg cast aside his co-writers and asserted full control over his music, hes struggled to find much to say with it. His 2012 debut might have had an assist from the bloke who wrote Snow Patrols Run, but its tales of council-estate drudgery and the longing to escape it felt real fast-forward to last years On My One, however, and Bugg was grumbling about life on the road, the girls he left behind and making baffling excursions into hip-hop. His fourth album doesnt solve that conundrum Bugg still sings about love and loss in prosaic terms that carry all the weight of a Hallmark card but Hearts That Strain is at least consistent where its predecessor seemed confused. Album 2017 11 Songs. Alternative 2017. Hearts That Strain is the Nottingham songwriter's most consistent record to date, thanks to the graceful country lilt of tunes like This Time, Bigger Love, and Southern Rain. When he launches into the uptempo rockabilly ramble of Burn Alone, it's no less convincing, especially when Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach enters with a buzzing guitar lead. Hearts That Strain is undeniably consistent, and a return to form for Jake Bugg. Above all, theres a newfound restraint within the songwriting, with soft rim cracks and fluttering organs placing an emphasis on atmosphere in tracks like How Soon The Dawn. Its also a focused album, expanding on a rootsy, country sound reminiscent of The Wallflowers - snide joke about Bugg trading one Dylan for another aside. Even with this new direction, the album covers the same ground that Bugg refuses to move away from. We still get the same overabundance of lethargic ballads - one of which has to be placed at Track Six, and will probably be one of the albums singles, for traditions sake. Released September 1, 2017. Hearts That Strain Tracklist. About Hearts That Strain. The fourth full-length release for the British singer-songwriter was recorded in Nashville and features guest appearances from Dan Auerbach on guitar and Noah Cyrus. Hearts That Strain Q&A. Jake Bugg born Jacob Edwin Charles Kennedy 1994 in Nottingham is an English singer , musician and songwriter born to musical parents who separated when he was young. His father was a nurse and his name was Bugg, and his mother worked in sales, both parents having previously made recordings. Jake grew up in the Clifton council estate of Nottingham and started playing guitar at the age of 12 after being introduced to the instrument by his uncle Mark. The album never comes off as a slavish museum piece. It feels instead as if they somehow rediscovered this sound, like an old coat picked out of the attic that looks as perfect with a modern ensemble as it did in its own heyday. Read full review
