Kiss Each Other Clean is the fourth studio album by Iron & Wine, released January 25, 2011 via 4AD worldwide and Warner Bros. in the US. The album's title is taken from the lyrics of Your Fake Name Is Good Enough for Me. The first track from the album, Walking Far from Home, was released on November 26 in CD single and 12 vinyl versions as part of a special Record Store Day Black Friday event. The digital download version was released on November 30. The song Tree by the River has also been. Kiss Each Other Clean. Eerie electronic drones buzz underneath the dreamy opener Walking Far from Home, which also comes filled with the singersongwriter's surrealistic imagery. Groovy bass and squelchy analog synths take over Me and Lazarus and Monkeys Uptown, while Half Moon gets a shot of doo-wop and Big Burned Hand a skronky sax. To match such eccentric instrumentation, Beam transforms his usual whisper into a booming, confident croon. Kiss Each Other Cl. On Kiss Each Other Clean, Sam Beam has gone pop - at least the kind of pop you might have heard on a freeform radio station occupied by a band of hippie visionaries in 1971. Beams lovely voice anchors melodies of crystalline clarity and unshakable catchiness. But the music wont stay still, moving from stormy psychedelic rock Rabbit Will Run to white-guy funk Big Burned Hand to what sounds like a Beach Boys version of a country-western ballad The Metamorphoses of Ovid, Book III Fable. Kiss Each Other Clean Q&A. Beggars, WMG от лица компании 4AD BMI - Broadcast Music Inc. Kiss Each Other Clean's profound artistic statement continues to move the listener's expectation forward with regard to what one can expect from Iron & Wine. Beam's masterful storytelling and musical experimentation relies on the conflict from combining the happy and the sad, the heavy and the light, and creating an ongoing narrative between the artist and the listener. This is my first Iron And Wine album. Based on the strength of the track Tree By The River I ordered this a free song download the week before. Plus I often heard the name of the band and wanted to educate myself. And Kiss Each Other Clean goes further still. Sumptuously recorded, with help from Chicago producer Brian Deck, and featuring a cast of musicians drawing from bands like Califone, Chicago Underground Duo and Antibalas, its a fuller, friskier record than anything Beam has captured before, filled out with warm Californian harmonies and boasting a certain funk in its step. Yes, if you can believe it, Kiss Each Other Clean gets kind of funky. Still, cut away the instrumentation and there is a storytelling core to Iron & Wine that remains largely consistent. His latest Kiss Each Other Clean is no surprise at this point, having two albums and Ep to expand that sound to horn and strings sections, vocal modulation and a honing of his heart-halting lyrics of divinity in the mundane. Like Sufjan Stevens and his Age of Adz, I wouldnt want Beam one-noting his whole career, even if just because hed become bored as an artist. But I think Kiss Each. Main artist: Iron And Wine. Total duration:43 min. Walking Far From Home. Iron & Wine. Me And Lazarus. Tree By The River. Monkeys Uptown. Half Moon. Rabbit Will Run. Kiss Each Other Clean is much more focused and homogenous, but there's still a lingering sense of abundant inspiration, eager to carry the songs off to different lairs. Read full review

After the stripped back beauty of Sam Beam's earlier albums, this is the first Iron & Wine album to stir a divide in the otherwise tranquil world of being an Iron & Wine fan. Rest easy folks. Yes, there is some saxophone and plenty of new ideas that are a departure from the earlier palette of sounds but all this record needs is time. Give it that and it will be as treasured as anything else this magical songwriter has graced us with. If anything Sam is becoming more bold with his ideas. Great record.
