Hüsker Dü. New Day Rising. The Orchard Music от лица компании SST Records BMG Rights Management US, LLC, LatinAutor. Grant Day Rising - Hüsker Dü. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. New Day Rising is the third studio album by American punk rock band Hüsker Dü, released in 1985 on SST Records. The album continued the move away from the fast hardcore punk of the band's earliest releases toward slower, more melodic material. The band released the album Zen Arcade through SST Records in July 1984, and the label's co-owner Joe Carducci immediately requested another album. The band wanted to self-produce, but SST insisted on Spot, who produced many of the label's albums, including all. For New Day Rising, the follow-up to their breakthrough double-album Zen Arcade, Hüsker Dü replaced concept with conciseness, concentrating on individual songs delivered as scalding post-hardcore pop. New Day Rising is not only a more vicious and relentless record than Zen Arcade, it's more melodic. Bob Mould and Grant Hart have written tightly crafted, melodic pop songs that don't compromise Hüsker's volcanic, unchecked power. Mould and Hart's songs owe a great deal to '60s pop, as the verses and choruses ebb and flow with immediately catchy hooks. New Day Rising 1985 - download mp3 or listen online. Songs list. After the two-LP concept album Zen Arcade, Hüsker Dü returned with a more conventional record, one that features all the band's strengths in 15 sharp doses. Songwriters Bob Mould and Grant Hart used every tool in their belts, from the band's aggression to its innate tunefulness, to sculpt songs that expressed a multitude of emotions in a variety of ways, far beyond a power trio's limits. New Day Rising Q&A

  • Uanabimo
I now own an original 1984 pressing and one of the recent reissues. I have to admit, I can barely tell a speck of difference. I have tried to compare these things a few separate times. If anything, the reissue might even sound a bit better and beefier. But only by a hair. However, that's my own experience. Each setup will be different. Either way, I love this album and you will probably never find an ideal pressing due to how it was recorded.
  • Delan
I believe that my copy is an original pressing. When I hold it up to the light, it turns light translucent brown.
  • Small Black
Anyone have a copy pressed on Quiex-like translucent vinyl? The plant Rainbo Records supposedly used this premium formulation in the mid-1980s.

  • Quemal
Overall their most balanced album, with what they were and what they'd become.
  • Winasana
Finally got a copy that wasn't beat up (with the exception of slight water damage on the back cover). I never thought it made sense to spend 20 plus dollars on a reissue when you can get the OG for around the same price. Spotty production (pun intended) as per usual with early SST releases, but still a killer album. The first pressing sounds good enough to my ears!
  • BlackBerry
Mine didn't have the lyrics on the inner sleeve, just a generic white one and the same lyrics on a separate smaller insert.
  • Malodred
I have a US Vinyl copy of this album without barcode which came with a small SST booklet and order form. The booklet advertises Flip Your Wig and the Makes No Sense single so must have been a later release. Has anyone else heard of it?
  • Phain
What do you guys think is the best sounding vinyl version of this amazing album?
  • Arabella V.
The original UK LP sounds much clearer and crisper than the original CD, which sounds very muffled and 1 dimensional in comparison. Like most Husker LPs they were recorded and mastered a bit too bright, but the LPs have a clarity and space that the CDs don't.EDIT: my copy is grossly off centre. Becomes noticeable to me towards the end of Celebrated Summer, and Perfect Example is practically unlistenable. Awful "seasick" changing in pitch. Side B is ok.
  • Blackredeemer
The original US press is the way to go -- I've had mine since it was released and just listened to it last night. It's got bass, it's got depth, it's got searing treble, and the drums punch the air. 32 years on and it still sounds that good. Avoid any later SST pressings of any releases, however, especially post-2000. They sound like Ginn used mp3s ripped from the crappy cds for masters. HORRIBLE.
  • Uscavel
All the releases of this record I've heard sound way too trebly/tinny. Its a masterpiece compositionally, but I'd love to see the masters re-worked and some of those lower ends brought out. If anyone know of a release that's done this, come at me
  • Arar
Try cleaning the disc on a RCM (Moth, OkINoki or similar) as this chunks up the sound nicely!
  • INvait
Worst recorded in the best possible way, you have to love how this album sounds. But, if you have a good vinyl set up, the original US smokes anything else.
  • from earth
none this is when they really started to suck ass
  • Whitecaster
Come on...there must be one version that sounds better than the crappy CD release (:
  • Bliss
None of them, probably. One of the worst recorded records I have ever heard.
