Live in San Francisco: Club Hangover 1954 - Ralph Sutton. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Live at Club Hangover. Pairing Edmond Hall and Ralph Sutton in a quartet made all the sense in the world. With Basie's Walter Page on bass and the under-rated Charlie Lodice's excellent drumming, this little band must have thrilled listeners to no end. The tunes have all been played a million times and the melodies will never be forgotten. The way these guys approach each number is what makes them memorable all over again. Edmond Hall has always been my favourite clarinet player. He's instantly recognizable for his searing hot tone and his endless stream of musical ideas. Ralph Sutton, too, has a sound on the piano that could be nobody else. The outside of this two-CD set says Edmond Hall with the Ralph Sutton Quartet Live At Club Hangover. The extensive liner notes talk a little bit about. But the reason that this set is so highly recommended is due to Clyde Hurleys playing on the second album. Despite being far from a household name, every person reading this column has heard his playing since Hurley took the famous trumpet chorus on Glenn Millers In The Mood. Hurley, who started his career with Ben Pollacks band in the late 1930s, played with Miller for two years until he got bored with the direction of the music.
