While he might not sound like he exactly belongs at first not going to lie, starting a song by saying swag really just makes me laugh, Childish's surprise feature is breathtaking. Massive tune alert! Jamie XX turns a decent truck driver hit (no offence) into a phuturistic dancehall soul fix, electronic ragga beats with plenty of modern ravey glitch and FX, voices twists, everything perfectly at its place. The simple pitched down voice at chorus when you expected it the very least is pure toxic genius. In my book, an unquestionable instant anthem, begging for a longer/crazier dancefloor friendly version (fingers crossed).

Well we disagree then. I'm no ragga/dancehall specialist, neither blues, so i can believe that there are sharper things out there on these fields, but in my opinion on a forward-thinking 'hybrid pop' perspective this remix really hits the spot, as well as respecting/modernizing the spirit of original song

restless I totally disagree! Adele is shaped in the old shout blues tradition with a totally new approach. Not that the original instrumentation could stand up to Adele's vocal quality though. But Jamie XX did absolutley nothing to make the track have any real stand-out licks. I listen to a lot of dancehall (what you call ragga), but this production is very lame and uninspired. He took the heart and soul out of it and tried to create a louzy dance hit out of it. Pure lazyness and completely out of touch with the original song as well with any dancehall or any other style in such direction as you say you hear in it. He only took the rhythmic handclaps and gave them a prime role. This production doesn't need the vocals as it never puts it down at the spot where it should or even could be. Maybe as just an instrumental version it tickle some fantasy. It just might could.
