ABBA is the third second internationally studio album by the Swedish pop group of the same name. It was originally released on 21 April 1975 through Polar Music and featured the hits Mamma Mia and SOS. Following the Eurovision success of Waterloo, ABBA saw the band gaining worldwide recognition. I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do topped the charts in Australia, as did Mamma Mia shortly after. SOS and Mamma Mia became hits in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The album saw ABBA. Because ABBA needed more time for the Voulez-Vous album these plans were condensed and Eastern Europe and most of Asia were dropped, only the Japan tour 1980 remained. In the spring of 1979 the intended venues still looked different though to the actual tour: Middle of May Stig Anderson will go over to Los Angeles and New York to discuss the up-coming tour, the opening of the movie in the US and the release of the LP in the US and Canada. All efforts will be put together to really make this ABBAs year in the US It is now decided that ABBA will open their American, Canadian and Europea. ABBA concluded their album-making career on a high if bittersweet note with The Visitors 1981. Marital discord and career pressures sealed the foursomes fate but rather than let their legacy peter out, ABBA turned their swansong into a striking final statement. The Visitors bears the influence of New Wave bands like Ultravox and the Buggles its sleek sound conceals moody asides and quirky left turns. If theres a single definitive ABBA album, it may well be 1977's Arrival: a brilliant synthesis of everything the Swedish foursome did well. The groups fourth album is at once ambitious and immediately ear-catching, filled with irresistible pop hooks and stirring rhythms
